Hello, I’m Ali
Alexandra Burgess is the founder of GroundedNomad, a career strategy and positioning company for ambitious people who know they are capable of more but need help translating that into the market.
Driven by passion & curiosity
A former Google recruiter, Alexandra spent five years inside one of the most competitive hiring environments in the world, supporting Cloud, AI, and Machine Learning teams. That experience gave her a behind-the-scenes understanding of how hiring actually works - what gets noticed, what gets missed, and why strong people often struggle to communicate their value clearly.
But Alexandra’s work has never been just about résumés or interviews.
At its core, GroundedNomad Lab is about helping people come back to themselves.
Her approach blends recruiter insight, career psychology, storytelling, emotional intelligence, and strategic positioning to help clients build careers that feel both successful and aligned.
Before Google, Alexandra worked across sales, business development, recruiting, and go-to-market strategy - learning how people make decisions, build trust, sell ideas, and move through change. Today, she brings that experience into her work with professionals, founders, and teams navigating reinvention, visibility, and growth.
Through GroundedNomad Lab, Alexandra offers strategic career positioning, executive interview preparation, recruiting support and immersive workshops rooted in her VIBES Methodology: Value, Inspire, Believe, Embody, and Safety.
She is also the author of Activating the Eternal Child, a framework for reconnecting with curiosity, creativity, confidence and play as serious tools for leadership and modern work.
Her work sits somewhere between high-performance career strategy and emotional truth - Google recruiter meets Soho House creative director, with a little nervous system regulation and a lot of human depth.
Alexandra is based between Mexico City and Miami Beach, often drawing inspiration from art, horses, movement, travel, and the belief that our careers should make room for the fullest version of who we are.
